Uniquely, her experience spans the Criminal Courts, Coronial Courts, Administrative and Family Divisions of the High Court, the Appellate Court, and UN Special Procedures Mechanisms of the Human Rights Council.
Criminal cases: R v Boular & Others (2018) (first all-female ISIS cell dubbed ‘The Tea Party’); R v Rahman (2016) (along with Anjum Choudhury, 'inviting support for ISIS'); R v Shakeel & Others (2008) (the 7/7 London transport bombing).
Appellate level: R v Kahar [2016] EWCA Crim 568 (guideline case on sentences for preparation of terrorist acts); R v HA [2018] 1 WLR 6105 (definition of “terrorist publication” & freedom of expression).
High Court proceedings: Terrorism Prevention & Investigations Measures (TPIMs), such as, EB v Secretary of State for the Home Department (2017) (evidence of such a sensitive nature that it was almost exclusively heard in closed proceedings); Radicalisations cases in the High Court Family Division, such as, Re (Children) 2017. Inquests such as the London Bridge Inquests (2019).
